(Workout of the
Week for August 31 - September 6) Mile & Muscle Challenge WARM-UP: Do 10 min. of a brisk walk/light jog. The Workout: Time to test your reserves (and tenacity!). The goal is simple – improve on your mile time and push-up time when your body is already pre-fatigued. This workout is a good measurement to see if your training program is paying off. Make sure you work as hard as you can each time to get an honest appraisal. THE EXERCISES: Run/Walk 1 Mile as fast as you can and record your time. Rest/Recover 5 minutes at a slow speed Run/Walk 1 mile and beat your 1st mile by at least 10 seconds. Rest/Recover 5 min. at a slow speed Do 25 Push-ups for time (record your time) Rest/Recover for 2 minutes (stretch the shoulders & chest) Do 25 Push-ups for time and beat your time by at least 5 seconds |
